Black screen
Microsoft community posts describe a black screen with this generation of games. None of them is an EA patch. If the window stays black after a 32-bit virtual machine, say the fix is unconfirmed for that PC.
Widescreen helpers are on the resolution page. They do not repair a driver that never presents an image.
