In the third ODI between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Sri Lanka, the Babar Azam-led side emerged victorious and eventually sealed the series 3-0. Ahead of the Asia Cup, the series win will definitely boost their confidence as Pakistan will aim to win the tournament and also do well in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Meanwhile, the third ODI also holds a significant value as Hasan Ali’s bold prediction came true in the second innings of the match. After a poor start with the bat, Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side needed something special and that’s when Mujeeb Ur Rahman stunned the cricketing world with his power-hitting.

His ferocious knock of 64 runs off 37 deliveries brought Afghanistan closer to the target but they unfortunately suffered a 59-run loss. Meanwhile, ahead of the 45th over of the match, Hasan Ali predicted that Shaheen Shah Afridi would pick up a wicket in the next over and the ace pacer eventually did it, as he dismissed Mujeeb to bring his team close to victory.

Sharing his delight over the correct prediction, Hasan Ali hilariously added that he is now ready to predict anything.

Pakistan to take on Nepal on August 30

The Babar Azam-led side will begin their Asia Cup preparations on August 30 in Multan. In their opening game of the campaign, Pakistan will take on Nepal, who will play their first match in the history of the competition. After that, Pakistan will once again travel to Sri Lanka to play against arch-rivals India on September 2.

If they qualify for the Super Four, Pakistan will travel to Lahore to play against the second qualifier from the B group. After that, they will travel back to the Sri Lankan shores for the remaining matches. After the Asia Cup, the Men in Green will come to India for the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5. However, ahead of that, Pakistan players will be travelling a lot and hence, their fitness is one area that the team needs to take care of.
