The match witnessed an eye-catching celebration from New York Warriors’ bowler Umaid Asif, who showed off his Iron Man t-shirt after dismissing California Knights batter Ricardo Powell.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the California Knights’ innings saw a combination of aggressive strokes and steady partnerships that ultimately led them to a total of 96/4 in their allotted ten overs. Jacques Kallis played a pivotal role with 29 runs off 20 deliveries, including two fours and as many sixes. Aaron Finch was the top scorer with a brisk 42 off 22 balls, laced with six fours and one six. Ashley Nurse also showcased his power-hitting skills and contributed 16 runs from 12 balls.

New York Warriors’ bowlers put up a disciplined effort, with Asif taking two wickets for 18 runs in his 2-over spell. Among those two wickets that he picked, one came off a brilliant toe-crushing Yorker that left California’s Powell clueless. The sensational wicket-taking delivery was followed by an extraordinary celebration from Asif.

It all happened during the ninth over of the innings when Asif first trapped Irfan Pathan and then delivered a searing Yorker to newly arrived Powell on the next delivery to bag two consecutive wickets. Powell was left stunned by the inch-perfect yorker and walked back to the pavilion in disbelief, while Asif covered his face with the jersey in celebration and showcased the Iron Man t-shirt he was donning under the official jersey of the team.

In reply, the New York Warriors chased down the target with authority, scoring 97/2 in just 8.4 overs. Richard Levi emerged as the star of the innings with a blistering knock of 47 runs from 24 deliveries, including four fours and three towering sixes. Misbah-ul-Haq provided valuable support with 29 runs off 13 balls, featuring four fours and 1 six. The Knights’ bowlers struggled to contain the Warriors’ charge, as Richard and Misbah formed a match-winning partnership.

Richard’s explosive batting performance earned him the well-deserved ‘Player of the Match’ award.
