Virat Kohli is one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He has earned a huge fanbase for his stellar performances in international cricket across different formats.

The Delhi batter has played a number of memorable knocks during his illustrious career. However, not many would come close to his unbeaten innings of 82 off 53 balls against Pakistan in a group-stage clash of the 2022 T20 World Cup in Melbourne.

The batting gloves Kohli wore during that particular innings were bought for a whopping sum of 3.2 lakh by Harv Kler during the Chappell Foundation Annual Dinner, as per Times of India.

The gloves were auctioned on September 13 in Sydney. Former India coach Greg Chappell and Australian businessman Darshak Mehta co-founded the Chappell Foundation. Its main motive is to raise funds for the homeless young people in Australia. The funds are used to provide shelter, care, education, and training, and the organisation intends to facilitate a better future for the homeless people in the country Down Under. Kohli had donated his gloves after playing the epic knock at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Former Australian cricketers like Brett Lee, Michael Bevan, Geoff Lawson, Phil Emery, Greg Dyer, Trevor, and Ian Chappell were also in attendance at the SCG for the sixth annual dinner.

Virat Kohli saved India from the jaws of defeat versus Pakistan

In a crucial Group 2 fixture in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Pakistan posted 159/8 in their 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed. In reply, India lost three wickets inside the powerplay.

Axar Patel, who was promoted ahead of Hardik Pandya, also perished in no time. However, King Kohli and Hardik stitched a brilliant partnership of 113 runs to resurrect India’s innings from 31/4. Hardik was dismissed in the last over, but Kohli stayed till the end and scripted a memorable four-wicket win for India.
