Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was left furious following their defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in the ongoing Asia Cup. They had to win against the Dasun Shanaka-led side to cement their position in the final of the competition but unfortunately, they lost by two wickets and got crushed out of the tournament. Eventually, they finished at the bottom of the Super Four table following India’s defeat at the hands of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, as per reports, Babar Azam lost his cool in the dressing room after the defeat. He called out players for their poor performance, which ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi didn’t like. He interrupted and asked Babar to appreciate the players who did well but the skipper didn’t react in a positive way. Later, Mohammad Rizwan had to interfere to solve the issue.

This segment from Dawn News discusses the issue in detail:

Ahead of the ODI World Cup, this can prove to be extremely critical. In the last couple of years, a few videos emerged when skipper Babar Azam was motivating his teammates and even asked them not to blame each other for any loss. However, things drastically changed this time as Babar couldn’t digest the defeat at the hands of the defending champions.

Nassem Shah might miss ODI World Cup

Ace pacer Naseem Shah is currently dealing with a shoulder injury and as per reports, he is likely to miss the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5. The youngster picked up the injury during the Asia Cup and courtesy of the same, he missed the match against Sri Lanka.

Fellow pacer Haris Rauf too is suffering from an injury at the moment but he is expected to recover before the mega tournament in India. On the other hand, if Naseem misses out, either of Mohammad Wasim Jr or Zaman Khan is likely to replace him in the 15-member squad.
