Rizwan leads Pakistan to a decent total
Speaking about the game, Pakistan, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a competitive total of 252/7 in their allotted 42 overs. Key contributions came from Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a brilliant 86 runs off 73 balls, and Abdullah Shafique, who scored a steady 52 runs off 69 deliveries. Iftikhar Ahmed’s quick 47 off 40 balls boosted Pakistan’s total.
However, Sri Lanka’s bowlers put up a commendable effort, with Matheesha Pathirana being the standout performer, taking three crucial wickets for 65 runs in his eight overs.

Kusal Mendis drive Sri Lanka to the final
In response, Sri Lanka faced an equally challenging task. Kusal Mendis was the hero of their innings, scoring a match-winning 91 runs off 87 balls, which included eight fours and one six. Mendis’ performance was complemented by Sadeera Samarawickrama (48) and Charith Asalanka (49), who played crucial supporting roles.
