Asian Cricket Council takes proactive measures

According to a recent report from ESPNcricinfo, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has taken a proactive step by introducing a reserve day for the highly-anticipated encounter between Pakistan and India. This decision aims to address concerns related to adverse weather potentially disrupting the game. In the event that rain or adverse conditions suspend play during the iconic match, the action will resume on September 11, 2023, picking up from the point where it was interrupted.

Significantly, this match is the sole exception, apart from the final, to feature a designated reserve day, underlining its importance and the keen anticipation surrounding it. The ACC is expected to issue an official announcement regarding the inclusion of the reserve day in the near future, ensuring that this much-awaited clash unfolds without undue interruptions due to unfavorable weather conditions.

“A reserve day has been incorporated for the Super11 Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match between India vs Pakistan scheduled to take place on 10th September 2023 at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. If adverse weather suspends play during the India vs Pakistan game, the match will continue on 11th September 2023 from the point it was suspended. In such an eventuality, ticket-holders are advised to hold on to their match tickets which will remain valid and will be utilised for the reserve day,” ACC was quoted as saying by the ANI.
