The Asia Cup 2023 will continue to treat fans with riveting cricketing action as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh take on each other in the second game of Super 4 on Saturday, September 09 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Bangladesh didn’t have a great start to the tournament as they lost against Sri Lanka by five wickets in their opening fixture. However, they made a remarkable comeback by thumping Afghanistan by 89 runs in their second fixture and qualified for the Super 4.

However, they failed to continue their winning momentum in the next stage and lost by seven wickets against Pakistan in their first fixture. The Shakib Al Hasan-led side will be once again eager to make a comeback in the Super 4 stage as well to have a chance to qualify for the final. Bangladesh suffered a major setback after the leading run-scorer of the tournament Najmul Hossain Shanto got ruled out. In his absence, the other batters will have to step up and put up an improved show than the previous game.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka won both of their fixtures in the group stage and topped Group B. The Dasun Shanaka-led side have got their title defence off to a great start and will look to continue their winning run in the Super 4 stage as well. Having already beaten Bangladesh in the tournament, Sri Lanka will have an upper hand over them heading into the fixture and will be eager to emulate their dominant performance once again.

Matheesha Pathirana has been phenomenal with the ball for the co-hosts having picked up five wickets from two matches while Charith Asalanka has been the top run-getter for them with 98 runs from two innings. The match promises to be a mouth-watering contest where both teams will look to defeat each other and move ahead in the continental tournament.
